The PARKER B20-5B is a brass pneumatic hose coupling designed for use in industrial compressed air and pneumatic fluid systems. It features a 1/4 inch body diameter with a hose barb thread type sized for 3/8 inch inside diameter hose. Built to the Industrial Interchange standard, it delivers a rated maximum working pressure of 300 psi across a wide operating temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. This coupler is installed by HVAC technicians, industrial maintenance mechanics, and pneumatic system specialists where a reliable, leak-resistant connection between a hose and a quick-disconnect circuit is required.
The B20-5B belongs to the Parker Series 20 Industrial Interchange family, making it compatible with other Industrial Interchange-style couplers and nipples commonly found in shop air systems, pneumatic tool lines, and light industrial automation. Its hose barb end accepts 3/8 inch ID flexible pneumatic hose, while the coupler body connects to the mating nipple in a standard Industrial Interchange socket. This fitting suits both permanent and field-serviceable installations in residential and commercial mechanical rooms, job-site air systems, and manufacturing environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation coupler for Industrial Interchange Series 20 pneumatic quick-disconnect systems accepting a 1/4 inch body coupler with a 3/8 inch ID hose barb connection.
Installation is performed by a qualified technician or pipefitter. Before servicing any pneumatic line, depressurize the system completely and bleed residual air pressure from the circuit. Slide the hose barb end fully into the 3/8 inch ID hose and secure with an appropriate hose clamp rated for the working pressure. Use the 0.75 inch hex on the coupler body for wrench tightening; do not over-tighten or apply torque beyond what is needed to seat the fitting. Verify the completed connection is leak-free by bringing the system back to working pressure and inspecting with a suitable leak-detection method.
