The PARKER AVUS-46 is a straight solder connector refrigeration access valve rated to 500 psi maximum working pressure. Constructed from brass, it provides a reliable service port for refrigerant system diagnostics, charging, and evacuation procedures. The valve connects to 3/8 inch tube OD copper line sets using a standard solder joint, making it a permanent, leak-resistant addition to a refrigeration or HVAC circuit. HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics install this valve when adding a service port to a system that lacks one or when replacing a damaged access fitting.
This access valve is suited for residential and light commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems where solder-type connections are required. It is installed on suction or liquid lines to enable manifold gauge set connection for system pressure testing, refrigerant charging, or nitrogen purge operations. The straight body orientation makes it practical in line runs where inline access is preferred over angled or side-mount configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or field-installed service fitting for refrigeration and air conditioning systems using 3/8 inch OD copper tubing with solder-type connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC or refrigeration technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 certification. Recover all refrigerant and depressurize the system before soldering to prevent ignition of refrigerant vapors and to avoid pressure hazards. Use standard silver-alloy brazing rod and proper flux for copper-to-brass solder joints, and purge the line with dry nitrogen during the brazing process to prevent internal oxidation. Allow the joint to cool completely before leak-checking and recharging the system.
