The PARKER AVUS-44 is a straight solder connector refrigeration access valve designed for use in refrigerant line service applications. Rated to 500 psi maximum working pressure, this valve provides a reliable access point for charging, recovering, or checking system pressures without requiring a brazed service port added in the field. The valve connects to 1/4-inch tube outside diameter copper lines using a standard solder joint. The body is constructed from brass, which resists corrosion and withstands repeated service tool connections. HVAC and refrigeration technicians install this valve during system commissioning or field service on residential and light commercial refrigerant circuits.
This access valve is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems where a low-profile, inline service port is needed on 1/4-inch copper tubing. It is commonly installed on suction or liquid line segments to allow gauge manifold or recovery equipment hookup. The straight body orientation keeps the valve compact within tight equipment cabinets or line sets routed through confined spaces. Solder installation eliminates the need for flare or compression fittings at the service point, resulting in a leak-tight permanent connection.

Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC or refrigeration technician certified to handle refrigerants under EPA Section 608 requirements. Recover all system refrigerant and relieve system pressure before soldering to avoid injury and tubing damage. Use standard silver-bearing solder or brazing alloy appropriate for refrigerant service, and protect adjacent components from heat with a wet rag or heat shield during the solder process. After installation, pressure-test the joint and inspect for leaks before recharging the system.
