The PARKER ASN-8 is a compact pneumatic exhaust muffler designed to reduce noise at the exhaust port of pneumatic valves, cylinders, and actuators. Constructed from POM (acetal) polymer, this muffler threads directly into a 1/4 inch Male NPT port and provides an 84 dB noise rating at a rated flow capacity of 124 CFM. The porous sintered element dampens exhaust pulses and filters particulates from the discharged air stream. Typical installers are pneumatic system technicians and industrial maintenance mechanics working on compressed air circuits in manufacturing, automation, and process control environments.
The ASN-8 fits inline exhaust applications where a 1/4 inch Male NPT connection is required. It is suited for use on directional control valves, filter-regulator-lubricator assemblies, and pneumatic cylinder ports that need noise attenuation at the exhaust outlet. The muffler is rated for operating temperatures from 14 degrees F to 140 degrees F, making it appropriate for standard indoor industrial environments as well as light-duty outdoor enclosures within that temperature range.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement muffler for pneumatic valves, cylinders, and actuators equipped with a 1/4 inch Male NPT exhaust port.
Installation is performed by pneumatic system technicians or industrial maintenance mechanics. Depressurize and isolate the compressed air circuit before removing the existing muffler or installing this unit. Thread the ASN-8 by hand into the NPT exhaust port and tighten with an appropriate wrench — do not overtighten acetal-bodied fittings, as the polymer threads can crack under excessive torque. Verify the exhaust port is free of debris before installation to prevent blocking the muffler element.
