The PARKER A8TPL is a push-to-connect tube plug fitting designed to cap off a 1/2-inch OD tube line quickly and without tools. Manufactured from polyoxymethylene (POM), a rigid acetal-based thermoplastic, the fitting delivers a rated working pressure of 250 psi. An EPDM O-ring provides the primary seal, offering good resistance to water, steam, and many water-treatment chemicals. The gray POM body resists corrosion and is well suited to plumbing, pneumatic, and fluid-distribution applications where a metal fitting would add unnecessary weight or cost. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance techs use this style of plug to dead-end a tube run during system modifications or pressure testing.
The A8TPL is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing systems, pneumatic control lines, and fluid-handling assemblies that use 1/2-inch OD tubing. It is a common choice when capping a branch line during a retrofit or isolating a section of tubing for testing. The EPDM O-ring makes the fitting compatible with water and many mild chemical services, though compatibility with the specific media being handled should always be confirmed before installation.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch OD tubing in push-to-connect plumbing, pneumatic, and fluid-distribution systems. Confirm media and temperature compatibility with POM body and EPDM O-ring before installation.
Depressurize and drain the system completely before inserting or removing any push-to-connect fitting. Cut tubing squarely and deburr the end to ensure a full, leak-free seat against the O-ring. Tube insertion depth and retaining-collar release procedures should follow the tube and fitting manufacturer guidance. Installation in potable-water systems may be subject to local plumbing code requirements under the IPC or applicable state amendments.
