The PARKER A5EU4-MG is a push-to-connect union tube fitting designed for quick, tool-free connections between two tube runs of differing outside diameters. The fitting accepts a 5/16-inch OD tube on one end and a 1/4-inch OD tube on the other, making it a reducing union suitable for pneumatic and fluid-transfer lines. Constructed from polyoxymethylene (POM), a high-rigidity engineering thermoplastic, the A5EU4-MG is rated to 300 psi. Its push-to-connect mechanism allows technicians to make secure inline connections without ferrules, compression sleeves, or threaded adapters, speeding up assembly in tight spaces.
This fitting is used in a range of light-to-moderate-pressure pneumatic and fluid-handling applications found in HVAC, refrigeration controls, plumbing panel assemblies, and general equipment plumbing. The reducing union format is particularly useful when transitioning between two tube sizes in a single inline connection, eliminating the need for a separate reducer and union. Suitable for residential and light commercial installations where plastic push-to-connect components are code-acceptable.
Designed as an OEM-style push-to-connect replacement union for pneumatic and fluid-transfer tubing systems using 5/16-inch and 1/4-inch OD tubing.
Installation is typically performed by HVAC technicians, plumbers, or equipment service technicians. Before installing or removing this fitting, depressurize and isolate the line completely. Ensure tube ends are cut cleanly and squarely with a tube cutter — do not use a hacksaw, as burrs will compromise the internal collet seal. To release the tube, depress the collet ring evenly while pulling the tube straight out.
