The PARKER 937480 is a threaded suction strainer designed for hydraulic and fluid system applications where debris removal from the inlet side of a pump is required. Rated at up to 19 liters per minute (5 GPM), this strainer uses a stainless steel screen to capture particulate before it reaches downstream components. A built-in magnetic element enhances ferrous-particle capture. The unit measures 1.81 inches in diameter and 4.15 inches in length, with a 1/2-inch NPT port for direct pipe thread installation. Maximum working temperature is 195 degrees F (90 degrees C). No bypass valve is included, making it suitable for circuits where unfiltered bypass flow is not acceptable.
This strainer is used on the suction side of hydraulic pumps in industrial, mobile, and fluid-handling systems. The threaded NPT port allows straightforward integration into existing pipe assemblies. Licensed fluid power technicians and industrial maintenance mechanics are the primary installers. It is sized for low-to-medium flow circuits requiring reliable inlet filtration without the complexity of a bypass-equipped housing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation suction strainer for hydraulic and fluid systems using 1/2-inch NPT threaded connections with a maximum working temperature up to 195 degrees F.
Installation is performed by licensed fluid power technicians or qualified industrial mechanics. Depressurize and drain the hydraulic system completely before removing or installing any suction strainer. Apply thread sealant appropriate for hydraulic fluid compatibility on NPT threads and avoid over-tightening, which can crack port fittings. Verify flow direction and ensure the strainer is accessible for periodic inspection and cleaning as part of a routine maintenance schedule.
