The PARKER 8FEL8N-316 is a stainless steel compression tube female elbow designed for high-pressure and extreme-temperature fluid and gas line applications. It connects 1/2-inch OD tubing to a 1/2-14 NPT female threaded port using a compression-style tube connection on one end and an FNPT connection on the other. Rated to 6300 psi maximum working pressure, this fitting handles temperatures from -425 degrees F to 1200 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding industrial, refrigeration, and instrumentation systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this fitting in process piping, instrumentation tubing, and specialty gas line configurations.
This fitting is intended for use where a 90-degree direction change is required between a compression tube run and an NPT-threaded component. Common applications include instrument tubing manifolds, hydraulic and pneumatic control lines, and high-purity fluid systems that require stainless steel wetted surfaces. Its FNPT end accepts standard NPT-threaded male connectors, valves, or equipment ports. The compression end provides a reliable, vibration-resistant seal on 1/2-inch OD tubing without welding or flaring.
Designed as an OEM-style compression fitting for use with 1/2-inch OD tubing and 1/2-14 NPT-threaded ports in industrial, instrumentation, and process piping systems requiring stainless steel wetted components.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or plumber in accordance with applicable codes such as the IPC or ASME B31.3 for process piping. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before disassembly or installation. The compression fitting should be tightened to achieve a proper ferrule bite on the tubing without over-tightening, which can deform the ferrule and compromise the seal. Apply thread sealant appropriate for the service fluid on the NPT threads before assembly.
