The PARKER 8BLP8-316 is a compression-style tube plug manufactured from 316 stainless steel, designed to terminate or dead-end tubing runs in high-pressure fluid and gas systems. It accepts 1/2-inch outside-diameter tubing via a compression end connection and is rated for working pressures up to 6300 psi. The 3/4-20 thread size conforms to NPT standards. With a temperature range spanning -425 degrees F to 1200 degrees F, this plug is suitable for cryogenic applications as well as high-heat process environments. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and instrumentation technicians are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This plug is used in hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, chemical, and instrumentation tubing systems where a compression connection must be permanently or temporarily capped. The stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for corrosive media, sanitary process lines, and outdoor installations where carbon steel fittings would be unsuitable. It is commonly found in industrial plants, marine environments, and commercial HVAC or refrigeration equipment where tubing integrity and pressure retention are critical.
Designed as an OEM-style compression tube plug for 1/2-inch OD tubing systems using NPT-threaded connections in industrial, instrumentation, and process piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter, plumber, or qualified instrumentation technician. Depressurize and isolate the tubing circuit fully before removing or installing any compression fitting. Ensure the tubing end is cut cleanly and deburred before seating the compression ferrule to achieve a proper seal. Follow applicable codes including ASME B31.3 for process piping or relevant local mechanical codes when working on pressurized systems.
