The PARKER 8 F5OX-S is a steel flared tube straight thread connector designed for high-pressure hydraulic and fluid power applications. It features a 37-degree flare end on one side and an SAE straight thread O-ring boss (SAE-ORB) end on the other, creating a secure, leak-resistant connection between flared tubing and ORB-ported components. With a maximum working pressure of 6000 psi and a maximum working temperature of 500 degrees F, this fitting is built for demanding service conditions. It accepts 1/2-inch tube OD and uses a UNF thread standard. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians install this type of connector in industrial, mobile, and stationary fluid power systems.
This connector is suited for residential and commercial hydraulic lines, fluid power assemblies, and industrial plumbing installations where a transition from 37-degree flared tubing to an SAE-ORB port is required. It is manufactured to meet ISO 8434-2, SAE 070120, and SAE J514 standards, making it appropriate for use in systems requiring certified, pressure-rated fittings. Typical applications include hydraulic manifolds, pump ports, valve bodies, and actuator connections where a straight thread O-ring seal is specified at the port end.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch OD flared steel tubing and SAE straight thread O-ring boss ports conforming to SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2 specifications. Consult system design documentation to confirm port thread size and tube OD before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter, hydraulic technician, or plumber familiar with flared tube fittings and SAE-ORB port connections. Depressurize and isolate the hydraulic or fluid system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Ensure the O-ring on the SAE-ORB end is properly seated and lubricated before threading into the port. Follow applicable system design specifications and industry standards for torque and assembly procedures.
