The PARKER 8 CTX-S is a 90-degree male elbow fitting designed for flared tube connections in high-pressure fluid and pneumatic systems. Manufactured from steel, it features a 37-degree flare seat on one end and a male NPTF thread on the other, creating a leak-resistant metal-to-metal seal. The fitting accepts 1/2-inch tube OD and is rated for dynamic working pressures up to 6000 psi and temperatures up to 500 degrees F. It is a standard component in hydraulic, refrigeration, and industrial plumbing lines where a directional change from tube to threaded port is required. Licensed HVAC techs, hydraulic mechanics, and plumbers install this type of fitting in high-pressure and high-temperature service.
This fitting is suited for use in refrigeration, hydraulic, and industrial fluid-handling systems that require a 90-degree change in line direction. The Flare x MNPTF end configuration connects a flared tube directly to an NPTF-threaded port on a valve, manifold, or equipment body. It complies with ISO 8434-2, SAE 070202, and SAE J514, making it appropriate for both OEM assembly and field service applications across commercial and industrial installations.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch OD flared tubing and 3/8-inch NPTF-threaded ports in hydraulic, refrigeration, and industrial fluid systems conforming to SAE J514 or ISO 8434-2 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or licensed technician familiar with high-pressure fluid or refrigeration systems. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before removing or installing any fitting. Inspect the flare seat and threads for burrs or damage before assembly, and torque to the equipment manufacturer's specification using appropriate flare-fitting wrenches. NPTF threads are designed for dry-seal engagement, but always follow applicable system or code requirements regarding thread sealants.
