The PARKER 8-8 X6EF-S is a 90-degree swivel elbow connector designed for high-pressure hydraulic and fluid power systems. It features a 37-degree flare end on the tube side and a male NPTF thread on the port side, allowing the tube to pivot during assembly without twisting the line. Constructed from steel, this fitting handles working pressures up to 6000 psi and temperatures up to 500 degrees F. It accepts a 1/2-inch OD tube and a 1/2-inch NPTF thread. Licensed plumbers, hydraulic technicians, and fluid power mechanics install this type of fitting in tight routing applications where a fixed elbow would bind the tubing.
This swivel elbow is suited for industrial hydraulic lines, mobile equipment plumbing, and fluid power circuits where 90-degree direction changes are required without permanent torsional stress on the tube assembly. The swivel feature is especially useful during final assembly when tubing is already routed and fixed. Its steel construction and NPTF thread form make it appropriate for both oil and hydraulic fluid service in demanding environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for hydraulic and fluid power systems using 1/2-inch OD, 37-degree flare tube ends with 1/2-inch NPTF male port connections, per SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2.
Installation should be performed by a qualified hydraulic technician or licensed plumber familiar with SAE J514 flare fitting procedures. Depressurize and drain the hydraulic circuit fully before removing or installing any fittings. The NPTF dry-seal thread requires proper thread engagement to achieve a leak-free seal — do not over-torque or cross-thread. Inspect the 37-degree flare seat and tube flare for burrs or damage before assembly.
