The PARKER 8-8 VTX-S is a 45-degree male elbow fitting designed for steel flared tube connections in high-pressure fluid and pneumatic systems. It features a 37-degree flare seat on the tube end and a male NPTF threaded port on the outlet end, providing a leak-resistant mechanical connection without sealants when properly assembled. Rated to 6,000 psi maximum working pressure dynamic and capable of handling temperatures up to 500 degrees F, this fitting is built for demanding hydraulic and instrumentation line applications. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting in refrigeration, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
This fitting is suited for residential and commercial applications where 37-degree flared tube lines connect to NPTF-threaded ports on valves, manifolds, or equipment blocks. The 45-degree elbow geometry helps route tubing in tight spaces, reducing the need for additional bends in the line. It accepts 1/2-inch outside-diameter tubing on the flare end and uses a 1/2-inch NPTF thread on the male end. It is appropriate for use in hydraulic power units, refrigeration circuits, fuel systems, and industrial process piping where steel construction and high-pressure ratings are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 37-degree SAE flared tube connections with NPTF-threaded ports, conforming to SAE J514, SAE 070302, and ISO 8434-2 standards.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter, plumber, or mechanical technician. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Ensure the tube end is cut square, deburred, and properly flared to 37 degrees before tightening to avoid leaks or seat damage. Refer to applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC for piping system requirements in your jurisdiction.
