The PARKER 8-8 FTX-S is a steel flared tube connector designed for high-pressure hydraulic and fluid system applications. It provides a Flare x MNPTF end connection, joining a 1/2-inch OD flared tube to a male NPTF threaded port. The 37-degree flare angle conforms to SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2 standards, ensuring a leak-resistant metal-to-metal seat. Rated to 6,000 psi maximum working pressure and capable of handling temperatures up to 500 degrees F, this fitting is built for demanding industrial and fluid power installations. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians are the primary installers.
This connector is suited for hydraulic lines, pneumatic systems, and fuel or oil transfer plumbing in both industrial and mobile equipment environments. It is used wherever a 37-degree SAE flare tube must terminate at a male NPTF port. The compact overall length of 1.79 inches makes it practical in tight installation spaces. Steel construction is appropriate for high-pressure service where brass or aluminum fittings would be inadequate.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for hydraulic and fluid power systems requiring a 1/2-inch OD 37-degree flare tube connection to a 1/2-inch male NPTF port.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter, hydraulic technician, or qualified plumber. Depressurize and isolate the hydraulic or fluid system fully before removing or installing any fittings. Inspect the flare seat and NPTF threads for damage before assembly. Do not overtighten — use a calibrated torque wrench per the system manufacturer's specifications and follow applicable standards such as SAE J514 for flared connections.
