The PARKER 8-8 DTX-S is a 90-degree female elbow fitting designed for flared tube connections in high-pressure fluid and pneumatic systems. It connects a 37-degree flared tube end to a female NPTF threaded port, providing a leak-resistant joint without a separate sleeve or nut. Built from steel, the fitting handles working pressures up to 3000 psi and temperatures up to 500 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding hydraulic, fuel, and refrigeration line applications. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This elbow is used where a tube run must change direction at 90 degrees and terminate at a female NPTF port. Typical installations include hydraulic manifolds, fuel system headers, and compressed-air distribution panels in both residential and light commercial equipment. The Flare x FNPTF end configuration allows direct connection to standard NPTF-ported components without adapters. It meets ISO 8434-2, SAE 070203, and SAE J514 standards, confirming dimensional and performance compliance for OEM and aftermarket use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for 1/2 inch OD tube lines terminating at 1/2 inch NPTF female ports in hydraulic, fuel, and fluid-power systems requiring SAE J514 37-degree flare connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter, plumber, or qualified hydraulic technician. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Inspect the flare seat and NPTF threads for damage before assembly, and apply appropriate thread sealant to the NPTF end per the system fluid compatibility requirements. Do not overtighten the flare nut, as this can damage the 37-degree seat and cause leakage.
