The PARKER 8-4 DTX-S is a steel flared tube female elbow fitting designed for high-pressure hydraulic and fluid system connections. It features a 37-degree flare seat on the tube end and a female NPTF thread on the pipe end, forming a Flare x FNPTF configuration. The fitting accepts a 1/2 inch tube OD and is rated for a maximum dynamic working pressure of 4,500 psi. Its steel construction delivers the strength and durability required in industrial, mobile equipment, and fluid power applications. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians install this type of fitting where a direction change is needed in a pressurized tube line.
This fitting is suited for residential and commercial fluid power systems, hydraulic circuits, refrigeration lines, and compressed gas applications where a 90-degree change in flow direction is required. The Flare x FNPTF end configuration allows connection of a flared steel tube on one side to a female NPT port on the other, making it a useful transition fitting in mixed-thread systems.

Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter, plumber, or qualified hydraulic technician. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Inspect the flare seat and tube flare for burrs or damage before assembly, as imperfections will compromise the metal-to-metal seal. Apply appropriate thread sealant to the NPTF threads per system fluid compatibility requirements and torque to fitting specifications as defined by the system designer or applicable codes.
