The PARKER 8-2 FTX-S is a steel flared tube straight thread connector designed for high-pressure hydraulic and fluid power applications. It provides a reliable flare-to-NPT transition, connecting 1/2 inch OD flared tubing to a 1/8-27 male NPT port. The 37-degree flare angle seats securely against the mating flare seat, forming a leak-resistant metal-to-metal seal rated for up to 6000 psi dynamic working pressure. Licensed plumbers, hydraulic technicians, and fluid power mechanics install this type of fitting in systems where a permanent, vibration-resistant tube connection to a threaded port is required.
This connector is suited for use in hydraulic circuits, pneumatic lines, refrigeration and HVAC tubing assemblies, and industrial fluid systems that require a straight-body flare-to-NPT adapter. The male NPT end threads into a standard NPT-tapped port or fitting body, while the flare end accepts 1/2 inch OD tubing that has been prepared with a 37-degree flare tool. It is appropriate for both residential mechanical systems and commercial or industrial installations where rated working pressure and a compact inline profile are priorities.
Designed as a standard 37-degree flare to male NPT straight connector for use with 1/2 inch OD flared tubing and 1/8-27 NPT threaded ports in hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid system applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified hydraulic technician, pipefitter, or licensed plumber familiar with flared tube fittings and NPT thread sealing. Depressurize and fully isolate the system before removing or installing any fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant to the NPT threads only — do not apply sealant to the flare seating surface. Ensure the mating tube end is properly flared to a 37-degree angle using a calibrated flare tool before assembly to achieve a correct seal.
