The PARKER 731001 is a miniature manual ball valve designed for 1/4-inch pipe service with female NPT (FNPT) connections on both ends. The valve body is constructed from brass and uses a wedge-style handle for quick quarter-turn open and close operation. The ball seal is made from reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which provides chemical resistance and a reliable shutoff across a wide range of fluid and gas service applications. This valve is well-suited for installation in tight spaces where standard full-size valves cannot be accommodated. It is installed by plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipe fitters working on control lines, instrumentation tubing, and small-diameter process piping.
The 731001 is appropriate for residential and light commercial applications where a compact, manually operated shutoff is required on a 1/4-inch FNPT line. Typical install scenarios include refrigeration service ports, pneumatic control lines, instrument isolation, and similar small-bore piping configurations. The FNPT x FNPT end connection allows it to thread directly onto male NPT fittings without additional adapters in most installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation miniature ball valve for 1/4-inch FNPT pipe connections in refrigeration, HVAC, pneumatic, and instrumentation piping systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician. Shut off system pressure and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any valve. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to male NPT threads per standard practice and applicable plumbing or mechanical codes. Do not overtighten the FNPT connections, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque.
