The PARKER 68VL-8-8 is a brass compression tube connector designed to join 1/2-inch OD tubing to a 1/2-inch male NPT threaded port. It provides a reliable, leak-resistant mechanical connection without soldering or brazing. The fitting uses a compression end on one side and a MNPT end on the other, making it suitable for instrumentation, fluid transfer, and light pneumatic lines. At 0.875 inches overall length and 0.1757 pounds, it is a compact, single-piece fitting intended for installation by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or HVAC technicians working on tubing runs in both residential and commercial settings.
This fitting is used where a tube-to-threaded-port transition is required in plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, or industrial fluid systems. The compression end accepts 1/2-inch OD tubing directly, while the MNPT end threads into a standard female NPT port. It is rated for a temperature range of -30 degrees F to 275 degrees F (approximately -34 degrees C to 135 degrees C), covering most standard service conditions in mechanical and process piping applications. Quantity sold is one fitting per package.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement compression connector for systems using 1/2-inch OD tubing with 1/2-inch MNPT threaded ports, conforming to ISO 6149 and SAE J1926 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified HVAC technician. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any compression fitting. Use an appropriately sized wrench to tighten the compression nut to the manufacturer-recommended procedure; do not overtighten, as brass fittings are susceptible to thread or ferrule damage. Follow applicable codes including IPC and IFGC where relevant to the system type.
