The PARKER 68PLP-8M-2G is a straight push-to-connect male connector designed for tube-to-male tube connections in pneumatic and fluid systems. It accepts an 8mm outside diameter tube on the push-in end and features a BSPP male thread on the other end. The body is nickel-plated brass, which provides corrosion resistance suitable for air and compatible fluid service. Rated to 300 psi maximum working pressure and tested across a temperature range of 0 degrees F to 200 degrees F, this fitting is appropriate for compressed air lines, instrumentation, and light fluid plumbing where a reliable, tool-free tube connection is required. A silicone-free grease is used internally, keeping the fitting compatible with environments where silicone contamination is a concern.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial pneumatic systems, HVAC control tubing, and instrumentation plumbing where 8mm OD tubing connects to a male BSPP threaded port. The silver body with yellow release button provides quick visual identification and allows tube release without additional tools. It is typically installed by HVAC technicians, plumbers, and instrumentation technicians during new construction or retrofit service work. The UL94 V-0 flame resistance rating on the internal components makes it acceptable in environments with fire-resistance requirements.
Designed for use with 8mm outside diameter push-to-connect tubing and equipment ported with BSPP male threads. Verify thread type and tube OD before installation, as BSPP is not interchangeable with NPT or BSPT without appropriate adapters.
Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any push-to-connect fittings. Insert tube straight and fully seated to achieve a leak-free connection; confirm seating by applying light pull-back tension to the tube before returning the system to service. To release the tube, depress the yellow release button fully while withdrawing the tube. Thread engagement on the BSPP male end should be made with appropriate thread sealant compatible with the system fluid; consult applicable plumbing or pneumatic codes for sealant and torque guidance.
