The PARKER 68HD-8-8 is a brass compression tube connector designed to join 1/2-inch OD tubing to a male NPT threaded port. It forms a leak-resistant mechanical connection without soldering or flaring, making it a reliable choice for plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-handling applications. Constructed from brass, the fitting handles a maximum working pressure of 1150 psi and is rated for temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of fitting in both new construction and retrofit work where a clean, reusable compression joint is required.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial installations involving copper or compatible soft tubing systems. Typical applications include water supply lines, refrigeration service, pneumatic controls, and instrument tubing runs where a compression-to-NPT transition is needed. The Compression x MNPT end configuration allows it to connect directly to threaded ports on valves, manifolds, pumps, and equipment panels without additional adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation compression connector for systems using 1/2-inch OD tubing with a male NPT threaded port connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC or IFGC as relevant. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before disassembling any existing fittings or installing this connector. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing, then advance with a wrench per standard compression fitting practice. Avoid over-tightening, which can deform the ferrule and compromise the seal.
