The PARKER 68CA-6-4 is a brass compression tube connector designed to create a leak-tight joint between a 3/8 inch outside diameter tube and a male National Pipe Taper Fitting (MNPT) port. One end accepts a compression tube fitting; the other end threads into a standard NPTF male port using a 1/4-18 thread. Rated to 1000 psi maximum working pressure and capable of handling temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this connector is suited for hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, and fluid-transfer lines where a reliable, vibration-resistant connection is required. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial piping contractors are the typical installers.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial applications wherever a compression-to-MNPT transition is needed. Common install scenarios include instrument tubing connections, control-line plumbing, hydraulic equipment, and HVAC refrigerant or oil-line assemblies that terminate at a threaded male port. The brass construction makes it compatible with water, air, oil, and many common refrigerants at moderate pressures. It ships as a single piece, making it easy to order exact quantities for service calls or small-scale jobs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems that require a 3/8 inch OD tube compression connection transitioning to a 1/4-18 NPTF male threaded port.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified industrial pipefitters. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before disassembling any existing fittings. Hand-tighten the NPTF thread first, then use a wrench for final make-up — avoid overtightening, which can crack brass fittings or distort the compression ferrule. Follow applicable codes such as ASME B31.1 or local mechanical codes for pressure-rated tubing assemblies.
