The PARKER 66PTC-8-8 is a push-to-connect female connector fitting designed for tube-to-female NPT tube connections in compressed air and pneumatic brake systems. Constructed from brass with a nitrile o-ring, it accepts 1/2 inch OD tubing on both tube ends and connects to a 1/2 inch NPTF female thread at the center port. The fitting is rated to 250 psi maximum working pressure and handles a service temperature range of -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. It carries DOT designation under FMVSS 571.106, SAE J2494, and SAE J2494-3, making it appropriate for regulated air brake circuit applications. Licensed technicians and fleet mechanics working on DOT-compliant systems are the primary installers.
This fitting is used in air brake tubing circuits on commercial vehicles and heavy equipment where a push-to-connect interface is required at a female NPT port. The tube-by-FNPT-by-tube configuration allows the fitting to serve as an in-line connector bridging two 1/2 inch OD tube runs at a threaded body or manifold port. It is suited for both original equipment assembly and service replacement in DOT-regulated pneumatic brake plumbing.
Designed as a DOT air brake fitting compatible with 1/2 inch OD tubing and 1/2 inch NPTF female-threaded ports in compressed air brake systems meeting SAE J2494 and SAE J2494-3 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with DOT air brake system regulations. Depressurize the air brake system completely and drain any residual air before disconnecting or installing fittings. Ensure the NPTF threads are clean and free of damage before making up the threaded connection. After installation, pressurize the system and verify all connections for leaks before returning the vehicle or equipment to service.
