The PARKER 66PTC-8-4 is a brass push-to-connect female connector fitting designed for air brake and pneumatic tube systems. It features a tube-by-FNPT-by-tube connection configuration, allowing a 1/2 inch OD tube to thread directly into a 1/4 inch NPTF female port using a push-to-connect mechanism on each tube end. Rated to 250 psi maximum working pressure and tested across a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F, this fitting is built for demanding service environments. The nitrile O-ring construction provides a reliable seal under pressure. Licensed HVAC and refrigeration technicians, plumbers, and fleet brake system mechanics are the typical installers of this component.
This fitting is rated and certified as a DOT air brake fitting, meeting D.O.T. FMVSS571.106, SAE J2494, and SAE J2494-3 standards. It is suited for use in commercial vehicle air brake systems, compressed air lines, and pneumatic control circuits where a secure tube-to-female-thread connection is required. The compact overall length of 0.88 inches and 7/8 inch hex size make it practical for tight installation spaces. Both residential and commercial pneumatic plumbing applications are within scope, though DOT air brake compliance makes it especially relevant to fleet and heavy-duty vehicle service environments.
Certified as a DOT air brake fitting per D.O.T. FMVSS571.106, SAE J2494, and SAE J2494-3. Designed for use with 1/2 inch OD tubing in air brake lines and pneumatic systems requiring a tube-to-FNPT-to-tube female connector configuration.
Depressurize and drain the air system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Verify that the mating tube OD and thread specifications match before installation. NPTF threads are self-sealing by design, but inspect threads for damage before torquing. This fitting should be installed by a qualified mechanic or technician familiar with DOT air brake system requirements and applicable SAE and FMVSS standards.
