The PARKER 664FHD-8-6 is a brass flare fitting designed to connect a 45-degree female flare tube end to a male pipe thread port. It accepts a 1/2-inch OD tube on the flare side and transitions to a 3/8-18 NPTF male pipe thread on the outlet. Rated for up to 750 psi working pressure and temperatures up to 250 degrees F, this fitting is built for reliable service in refrigeration, HVAC, and fluid-transfer lines. The overall length is 1.31 inches. Licensed HVAC technicians and plumbers are the primary installers for this type of transition fitting in tube-to-pipe assemblies.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing applications where a flared copper or aluminum tube must terminate into a male NPT port. It is commonly used in suction and liquid line connections, fuel gas line assemblies, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems that operate within the rated pressure and temperature range. It meets SAE J512 and SAE J513 standards and carries a UL Listing, making it appropriate for installations governed by those specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 1/2-inch OD flared tube connections transitioning to 3/8-18 NPTF male pipe ports, in applications that fall within the rated pressure and temperature limits.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or plumber in accordance with applicable codes, including IFGC or IPC where relevant. Depressurize and isolate the system before removing or installing any fittings. Hand-tighten the flare nut first, then torque to the fitting manufacturer and SAE J512 guidelines using an appropriate flare nut wrench. Do not overtighten the flare connection, as this can distort the flare seat and cause leaks.
