The PARKER 664FHD-6-4 is a brass flare-to-pipe adapter fitting designed to connect a 3/8 inch OD flared tube to a 1/4-18 NPTF male pipe thread. It uses a 45-degree flare seat on the female end and a tapered NPTF thread on the male end, creating a leak-resistant mechanical seal on both connections. Rated to 1000 psi working pressure and a maximum working temperature of 250 degrees F, this fitting is well-suited for refrigeration, HVAC, and fluid-handling lines where both flare and pipe connections must be joined without adapters or sealant tape on the flare side. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of fitting during system assembly or service.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration lines, compressed air assemblies, and hydraulic or fluid-transfer circuits where a flared tube must terminate at a pipe-threaded port. The Flare x MNPTF end configuration makes it a common transition fitting at valve bodies, manifolds, and equipment inlets. Its compact overall length of 1.28 inches allows installation in tight spaces without special tooling beyond a flare wrench and backup wrench.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for systems using 3/8 inch OD flared tubing with a 1/4-18 NPTF pipe-threaded port connection.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, or pipefitters. Depressurize and isolate the line before disassembly or installation. Tighten the flare nut to the flared tube with a proper flare wrench while using a backup wrench on the fitting body to prevent rotation and tube stress. The NPTF thread is a dry-seal design and does not require thread sealant tape under most conditions, but verify against the equipment manufacturer guidelines and applicable local codes.
