The PARKER 661FHD-10-8 is a brass flared tube fitting that connects a male flare end to a female flare end in a single inline union. It accommodates a 5/8 inch tube OD on one side and a 1/2 inch tube OD on the other, making it a reducing flare fitting. The 45-degree flare angle conforms to SAE J512 and SAE J513 standards, and the primary thread is 3/4-16 UNF. Rated to 750 psi maximum working pressure and up to 250 degrees F, this fitting is suited for refrigerant, fuel, and hydraulic line applications where a reliable, leak-resistant metal-to-metal seal is required. HVAC technicians and plumbers install this fitting when routing or repairing flared tubing runs.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration lines, and fuel system plumbing where 45-degree SAE flare connections are the standard. The reducing geometry allows a technician to transition between two different tube sizes within the same flared-tube circuit without adding additional adapters. Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or plumber. Depressurize and recover any refrigerant or drain fuel lines completely before disconnecting existing fittings. Inspect flare seats on both the tubing and fitting for nicks or deformation before assembly. Tighten flare nuts to the fitting by hand first, then use a flare nut wrench to avoid distorting the flare seat — do not over-tighten brass fittings.
