The PARKER 640F-5 is a brass flared tube cap designed to seal the open end of a 5/16 inch OD flared tube line. It uses a 45-degree flare seat and a 1/2-20 thread to create a leak-tight mechanical closure on refrigerant, fuel, or fluid lines. Rated to 1200 psi maximum working pressure and 250 degrees F maximum working temperature, this cap is built for demanding service environments. The all-brass construction resists corrosion and stands up to the fluids and pressures common in HVAC, refrigeration, and hydraulic applications. Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians, refrigeration mechanics, or qualified plumbers. Hand-tighten the cap onto the flare seat first, then snug with a flare-nut wrench to avoid distorting the brass seat. Do not overtighten, as brass flare fittings are susceptible to deformation under excessive torque.
