The PARKER 63PT-5-62 is a brass compression tube insert designed to reinforce soft or thin-walled tubing in compression fitting assemblies. Installed inside the end of a tube before the compression nut and ferrule are tightened, the insert prevents the tube wall from collapsing under compression load. It is rated for temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of fluid and gas line applications. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians working with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing rely on this type of insert to maintain a leak-free connection at the compression joint.
This insert is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant lines, and instrumentation tubing systems where soft or thin-walled tubing requires internal support at the compression fitting connection. It suits applications involving water, hydraulic fluid, fuel, or low-pressure gas lines within its rated temperature range. The Tube OD end connection style is standard for compression fitting assemblies across these trades.
Designed as an OEM-style insert for use with standard compression fittings on soft or thin-walled tubing in plumbing, HVAC, and instrumentation applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians in accordance with IPC and IFGC guidelines where applicable. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembling any compression fitting. Insert the tube insert fully into the tube end before seating the ferrule and tightening the compression nut. Do not over-tighten the compression nut, as this can distort the ferrule and compromise the seal.
