The PARKER 63PT-4-62 is a brass compression tube insert designed to reinforce soft or thin-walled tubing at compression fitting connections. The insert slips inside the tubing end to prevent collapse when the compression nut and ferrule are tightened, ensuring a secure, leak-free seal. It is sized for 1/4 inch tube outside diameter and has an overall length of 0.33 inches. Rated for service from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this insert suits a wide range of fluid and gas handling applications in HVAC, refrigeration, pneumatic, and general plumbing systems.
This insert is used wherever soft copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing connects to a compression fitting and additional wall support is needed. Common install scenarios include instrument tubing runs, refrigerant sensing lines, pneumatic control lines, and low-pressure fluid circuits. It is appropriate for both residential and light commercial applications where maintaining tubing roundness at the compression point is critical to joint integrity.
Designed as an OEM-style insert for use with 1/4 inch tube OD compression fittings in HVAC, refrigeration, pneumatic, and fluid handling systems.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, or instrumentation technicians. De-pressurize and isolate the line before disassembly of any compression fitting. Slide the insert fully into the tubing end before seating the tubing in the fitting body, then hand-tighten and wrench-tighten the compression nut per the fitting manufacturer's instructions. Do not reuse ferrules on already-compressed tubing, as a new insert should be paired with a fresh ferrule whenever possible.
