The PARKER 639F-4 is a brass flared tube plug designed to seal 1/4-inch OD tubing lines using a 45-degree flare connection. It threads in with a 7/16-20 thread and provides a leak-tight termination point on flared tubing systems. Rated to 1400 psi maximum working pressure and suitable for temperatures up to 250 degrees F, this plug is appropriate for hydraulic, refrigeration, and fuel line applications where a permanent or serviceable end cap is required. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and fluid-systems mechanics install this fitting when capping off an unused or decommissioned flare port.
This plug is used in residential and commercial systems that rely on SAE 45-degree flare connections, including refrigeration lines, hydraulic circuits, and compressed-gas tubing assemblies. Its all-brass construction resists corrosion in wet or chemically active environments. At 0.69 inches overall length and 0.02 pounds, it fits into confined equipment spaces without clearance issues. The fitting ships individually but must be ordered in multiples of 5 to meet the minimum order quantity requirement.
Designed for use with SAE 45-degree flare tubing systems using 1/4-inch OD tubing and 7/16-20 threaded flare fittings per SAE J512 and SAE J513 specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified HVAC technicians, plumbers, or hydraulic system mechanics. Always depressurize and isolate the line before removing or installing any flare fitting. Thread the plug in by hand first to confirm alignment, then tighten with an appropriately sized open-end wrench — do not overtighten brass fittings. Verify for leaks after restoring system pressure.
