The PARKER 61C-6 is a brass compression tube nut designed to secure tubing connections in fluid and pneumatic line assemblies. It threads onto a mating fitting body at a 9/16-24 thread size, drawing a ferrule against the tube to create a leak-resistant mechanical seal without soldering or flaring. Rated to 200 psi maximum working pressure and suitable for temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this nut is built to SAE J-512 standards. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics use this type of hardware when assembling or repairing compression-style tube connections on copper and compatible soft-metal tubing.
The 61C-6 is suited for residential and light commercial applications involving 3/8 inch outside diameter tubing. Typical install scenarios include refrigerant line accessories, fuel lines, hydraulic instrument lines, and general fluid transfer assemblies where a reusable, tool-tightened compression connection is specified. The SAE J-512 rating makes it appropriate for use in automotive and industrial fluid systems as well as HVAC and plumbing service work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service component for compression-style tube assemblies using 3/8 inch OD tubing with SAE J-512 compliant fittings.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or refrigeration mechanic. Depressurize and isolate the line before disassembly. Thread the nut onto the fitting body by hand first, then tighten with an appropriately sized open-end wrench — do not overtighten, as brass threads and ferrules can be damaged by excessive torque. Verify the connection is leak-free under working pressure before returning the system to service.
