The PARKER 61C-4 is a brass compression tube nut designed to secure compression fittings in fluid and pneumatic line assemblies. It mates with a compression sleeve and fitting body to create a leak-resistant mechanical connection on 1/4-inch outside-diameter tubing. The nut features a 7/16-24 thread and is rated for working pressures up to 300 psi across a wide service temperature range of -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Manufactured from brass to resist corrosion, this nut meets SAE J-512 standards. It is commonly installed by HVAC technicians, refrigeration mechanics, and plumbers working on small-bore tubing runs in equipment and utility lines.
This compression tube nut is suited for use in residential and light commercial applications where 1/4-inch OD tubing connections are required. Typical installation scenarios include refrigeration line sets, instrument tubing, fuel lines, and hydraulic or pneumatic control circuits that call for an SAE J-512 compliant compression fitting system. The brass construction makes it compatible with copper and compatible soft-metal tubing used in these systems.
Designed as a SAE J-512 compliant compression tube nut for use with 1/4-inch outside-diameter tubing and compatible Parker or equivalent SAE-standard compression fitting bodies and sleeves.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician, refrigeration mechanic, or plumber. Depressurize and isolate the line before disassembly or installation. Hand-tighten the nut onto the fitting body, then advance with a wrench per the fitting manufacturer's torque procedure — do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged. Verify no leaks under system pressure before returning the line to service.
