The PARKER 60VL-5 is a compression tube sleeve designed for use in fluid power and hydraulic plumbing systems where a secure, vibration-resistant tube connection is required. This sleeve uses Parker's Vibra-Lok compression style, which provides a positive mechanical grip on the tube without the need for flaring. It is manufactured from Buna-N (nitrile) elastomer material, giving it resistance to petroleum-based oils and hydraulic fluids. The fitting meets ISO 6149 and SAE J1926 standards and is rated for a temperature range of -30 degrees F to 275 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, hydraulic technicians, and fluid power specialists are the typical installers for this component.
The 60VL-5 sleeve is suited for hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid transfer line assemblies in both industrial and mobile equipment applications. The Vibra-Lok compression design makes it well-suited for installations subject to vibration or repeated movement, where conventional compression fittings may loosen over time. It is sold individually and is appropriate for new installations and repair work on existing compression-style tube connections using NPTF thread interfaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation sleeve for compression-style tube fittings with NPTF thread connections conforming to ISO 6149 and SAE J1926 standards.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed hydraulic technician, plumber, or fluid power specialist. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any compression fitting components. Use appropriate tube cutting and deburring tools to ensure a clean, square tube end before seating the sleeve. Follow NPTF thread engagement requirements and applicable fluid system codes for the installation environment.
