The PARKER 60AB-8 is a brass compression tube sleeve designed to create a secure, leak-resistant connection in compression-style tube fittings. The sleeve seats between the compression nut and fitting body, biting into the tube OD to form a reliable mechanical seal. Built for a 1/2 inch outside diameter tube, it carries a maximum working pressure of 400 psi and handles temperatures from -65 degrees F up to 250 degrees F. It meets DOT FMVSS571.106 and SAE J246 standards, making it appropriate for demanding hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid transfer applications where certified components are required. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid system technicians are the typical installers.
This sleeve is suited for use in residential and commercial fluid conveyance systems where compression-style tube connections are specified. Common applications include hydraulic brake lines, air brake systems, and general-purpose compressed air or fluid lines requiring DOT-compliant hardware. Its brass construction provides good corrosion resistance in a range of media. The 1/2 inch tube OD sizing covers a widely used tube dimension across plumbing, HVAC, and light hydraulic work. Where compression fittings are the specified connection method, this sleeve serves as the critical gripping component in the three-part assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style compression sleeve for use with standard compression tube fittings accepting a 1/2 inch outside diameter tube, in systems conforming to DOT FMVSS571.106 and SAE J246 specifications.
Compression sleeves are installed by licensed plumbers or fluid system technicians as part of a three-piece compression fitting assembly alongside a compression nut and fitting body. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before disassembling any fitting. Do not reuse a previously compressed sleeve, as the deformed geometry will not reseal reliably. Hand-tighten the compression nut first, then advance with a wrench per the fitting manufacturer's recommended procedure — do not overtighten.
