The PARKER 6 STX-S is a steel male branch tee fitting designed for flared tube hydraulic and fluid-power connections. It features a 37-degree flare seat with Flare x MNPTF end connections, allowing a branch takeoff from a straight tube run while threading into a female NPTF port. The fitting handles up to 6000 psi dynamic working pressure and a maximum service temperature of 500 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding fluid-system applications. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic technicians install this type of fitting in compressed-air, fuel, and hydraulic line assemblies where a tee connection with a male NPT branch is required.
This fitting is used in residential and commercial fluid-system installations where 3/8-inch OD flared tubing meets a female NPTF port. Typical applications include hydraulic power units, fuel-delivery systems, compressed-air distribution, and refrigeration or HVAC equipment where flare-to-NPT branch connections are standard practice. The NPTF thread standard provides a pressure-tight mechanical seal without the need for sealant tape in most installations, though shop practice and applicable codes may specify thread sealant.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for fluid-power and hydraulic systems using 3/8-inch OD flared tubing with a 1/4-inch female NPTF branch port.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter, hydraulic technician, or qualified HVAC or plumbing professional. De-pressurize and drain the line completely before removing or installing any fitting. Inspect the flare seat and tube flare for damage or burrs before assembly, as imperfect flare geometry is the most common cause of leaks at 37-degree flare joints. Follow applicable codes and the manufacturer torque guidance for the tube OD and material when making up the flare connection.
