The PARKER 6-8 F5OX-SS is a stainless steel flared tube straight thread connector designed for high-pressure hydraulic and fluid system applications. It uses a 37-degree flare seat on the tube end and an SAE O-Ring Boss (ORB) straight thread on the port end, creating a reliable, leak-resistant connection without a gasket or sealant at the fitting body. The connector is rated to a maximum working pressure of 7,200 psi and handles temperatures from -425 degrees F to 1,200 degrees F, making it suitable for both cryogenic and high-temperature service lines. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and fluid power technicians are the typical installers for this type of fitting.
This connector is used in hydraulic systems, pneumatic lines, refrigeration piping, and industrial fluid transfer assemblies where stainless steel corrosion resistance is required. The 37-degree flare end accepts a 3/8 inch OD tube, while the SAE-ORB port end threads into a straight-thread boss port. It is well suited for marine, chemical processing, food service equipment, and other environments where standard carbon steel fittings are not acceptable. The overall installed length is 1.38 inches, keeping the connection compact in tight plumbing runs.
Designed to connect 3/8 inch OD 37-degree flared tubing to SAE O-Ring Boss straight thread port fittings per SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2. Verify tube wall thickness and port thread size against system requirements before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter, hydraulic technician, or licensed plumber familiar with flare-type tube fittings and SAE-ORB port connections. Depressurize and isolate the system fully before removing or installing any fitting. The SAE-ORB end requires a properly seated O-ring on the fitting for port sealing — inspect the O-ring for damage before assembly. Do not overtighten the flare nut, as over-torquing can distort the 37-degree flare seat and compromise the metal-to-metal seal.
