The PARKER 6-8 CTX-SS is a 90-degree male elbow tube fitting machined from stainless steel for high-pressure fluid and gas line applications. It connects a 3/8-inch OD flared tube to a 1/2-inch male NPTF threaded port using a 37-degree flare seat conforming to SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2. Rated to 6,000 psi maximum working pressure, this fitting handles extreme temperature ranges from -425 degrees F to 1,200 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding industrial, hydraulic, and refrigeration-adjacent plumbing configurations. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this fitting where a directional change from tube to threaded pipe is required in tight or angled runs.
This fitting is used in residential and commercial system installations where stainless steel construction is specified for corrosion resistance or elevated temperature service. Typical applications include compressed gas lines, hydraulic circuits, fuel systems, and high-pressure instrumentation tubing. The flare-by-MNPTF end configuration allows a direct connection between a flared tube end and a female NPT port on valves, manifolds, or equipment housings. It is packaged and sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/8-inch OD flared tube lines connecting to 1/2-inch MNPTF ported components in high-pressure fluid or gas systems.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or qualified HVAC technicians. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before disassembly or fitting installation. Ensure the tube end is properly flared to a 37-degree angle using the correct flaring tool before seating against the fitting; an improperly flared tube will not seal. NPTF threads are designed for dry-seal engagement, but follow applicable code requirements under IFGC, IPC, or ASME B31 as appropriate to the system type.
