The PARKER 6-6 GTX-S is a steel flared tube connector designed for high-pressure hydraulic and fluid system applications. It features a 37-degree flare seat on the tube side and female NPT (NPTF) threads on the port side, creating a Flare x FNPT configuration that provides a reliable, leak-resistant connection between flared tubing and threaded fittings or ports. Rated to 6000 psi maximum working pressure and capable of handling temperatures up to 500 degrees F, this connector is built for demanding service conditions. Steel construction ensures durability in industrial and mobile hydraulic environments. Overall length is 1.46 inches and tube outside diameter is 3/8 inch.
This fitting is commonly installed in hydraulic lines, refrigeration systems, and fluid transfer assemblies where a flared tube end must mate with a female NPT port. The 37-degree flare angle conforms to SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2 standards, making it appropriate for use in both stationary and mobile equipment. Thread standard is NPTF, which provides a pressure-tight seal without requiring additional sealant on the threads. This connector is suited for residential and commercial mechanical systems as well as light and heavy industrial fluid power circuits. Licensed pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and hydraulic system technicians are the typical installers.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install connector for fluid systems requiring a 3/8 inch OD flared tube connection to a 3/8 NPTF female port in compliance with SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2 standards.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed pipefitter, hydraulic technician, or HVAC mechanic. Depressurize and drain the fluid system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Inspect the flare seat and mating tube flare for nicks, scoring, or deformation before assembly, as surface defects can cause leaks at rated pressure. NPTF threads are designed to seal on thread engagement alone, but consult applicable system specifications and codes before omitting thread sealant in critical circuits.
