The PARKER 5SC5-316 is a stainless steel compression tube union designed to join two compression-end tubing runs in a single inline connection. It accepts compression fittings on both ends and is rated for extreme service conditions, including a maximum working pressure of 8100 psi and a temperature range of -425 degrees F to 1200 degrees F. This fitting is built for demanding industrial, instrumentation, and process piping applications where leak-tight performance under high pressure and wide thermal swings is required. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and instrumentation technicians are the primary installers.
This union is suited for high-pressure tubing systems in industrial plants, oil and gas facilities, chemical processing lines, and instrumentation panels. The compression-by-compression end connections allow it to join two lengths of tubing without welding or soldering, making it practical for retrofit and maintenance work in tight spaces. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion in aggressive media environments. Both residential and commercial process applications that require NPT-compatible fitting systems may use this union where inline tubing connections are needed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install compression tube union for high-pressure instrumentation and process tubing systems using compression-style fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter or instrumentation technician familiar with high-pressure tubing systems. Depressurize and isolate the tubing line completely before disconnecting or installing any compression fitting. Follow applicable codes including ASME B31.3 for process piping when torquing compression ferrules. Do not overtighten compression nuts, as this can deform ferrules and compromise the seal.
