The PARKER 5 VBU-S is a flareless bite-type tube male elbow fitting designed to create a leak-resistant connection between a tube line and a male-threaded port. The fitting accepts a 5/16-inch tube outer diameter and threads into a 1/8-inch NPTF port. The bite-type design uses a ferrule that bites into the tube wall on assembly, eliminating the need for tube flaring and providing a secure mechanical grip. It is suited for hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-transfer lines in industrial and trade applications. Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and fluid-system technicians.
This fitting is used in systems where tube lines must transition to threaded-port components at a 90-degree angle. Typical applications include hydraulic manifolds, pneumatic control panels, refrigeration and cooling circuits, and instrumentation tubing runs. The male elbow configuration allows the tube to exit perpendicular to the port face, saving space in tight installations. It is appropriate for both light industrial and commercial service environments where a reliable, non-flare tube connection is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for systems using 5/16-inch OD tube lines terminating at 1/8-inch NPTF threaded ports in hydraulic, pneumatic, or fluid-transfer assemblies.
Installation is typically performed by licensed pipefitters, plumbers, or hydraulic-system technicians following applicable IFGC or system-specific fluid-line codes. Depressurize and isolate the line fully before disassembling any existing fitting. Thread the NPTF connection hand-tight first, then wrench-tighten to achieve a proper dry-seal engagement without over-stressing the fitting body. Inspect the ferrule seating on the tube after initial assembly to confirm proper bite before returning the system to pressure.
