The PARKER 5 RBU-S is a flareless bite-type tube fitting configured as a male run tee. It accepts a 5/16 inch tube outside diameter and threads into a port with a 1/8 inch NPTF male thread. The bite-type design uses a ferrule that deforms on assembly to grip the tube without requiring flaring, creating a leak-resistant mechanical connection. This fitting is suited for hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid transfer lines in industrial and OEM equipment. Installation is performed by plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians working on instrumentation, control lines, or small-bore fluid systems.
The 5 RBU-S is used where a branch connection is needed at an inline position along a tube run while simultaneously threading into a ported block, manifold, or equipment body via the 1/8 inch NPTF male end. Typical applications include pneumatic control circuits, hydraulic instrument lines, and small-bore fluid distribution systems in both stationary and mobile equipment. The compact size and low weight make it well suited for confined routing paths in panels and enclosures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for flareless bite-type tube systems accepting 5/16 inch OD tubing and 1/8 inch NPTF ported connections.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or industrial maintenance technician familiar with flareless bite-type fitting assembly procedures. Depressurize and de-energize the system fully before disassembling any existing fittings or tube lines. Use a suitable thread sealant rated for the system fluid and pressure on the NPTF threads; follow the fitting manufacturer's assembly instructions for ferrule pre-set and final tightening turn count. Do not over-tighten, as excess torque can damage the ferrule seat or tube wall.
