The PARKER 5 OTX-S is a steel female branch tee fitting designed for flared tube connections in high-pressure fluid and gas line applications. It features a 37-degree flare seat with a 5/16-inch tube OD and terminates in a female National Pipe Thread Fuel (NPTF) port on the branch end. Rated to 5000 psi maximum working pressure, this fitting is suited for demanding hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel system assemblies where secure, leak-resistant connections are required. The NPTF thread standard provides a pressure-tight seal without relying on sealant alone. Fabricated from steel, it handles the mechanical stress of branch tee configurations in both fixed and dynamic line installations.
This fitting is used in industrial, mobile equipment, and heavy-duty fluid power systems where a branch takeoff is needed from a flared tube line. Typical applications include hydraulic control circuits, fuel delivery lines, and pneumatic distribution manifolds. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 5/16-inch OD flared tubing with 37-degree flare seats and 1/8-inch NPTF threaded branch ports in hydraulic, pneumatic, or fuel line assemblies.
Shut down and fully depressurize the system before removing or installing any flare fittings. Inspect the flare seat and tube end for damage or deformation before assembly, as an imperfect flare will prevent a proper seal. Hand-tighten the flare nut onto the fitting seat before applying final torque with a flare nut wrench to avoid cross-threading. NPTF threads are designed to seal mechanically, but confirm thread engagement meets applicable system requirements and applicable fluid power or plumbing codes.
