The PARKER 5-4 VTX-S is a 45-degree male elbow fitting designed for flared tube connections in high-pressure fluid and pneumatic systems. Manufactured from steel, it features a 37-degree flare seat on the tube end and a male NPTF thread on the port end, providing a leak-resistant metal-to-metal seal. Rated to 6000 psi maximum dynamic working pressure and capable of handling temperatures up to 500 degrees F, this fitting is built for demanding service in industrial, refrigeration, and hydraulic plumbing applications. Licensed HVAC technicians, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians are the primary installers of this component.
This fitting is suited for use in hydraulic lines, refrigeration tubing runs, and industrial fluid systems where a 90-degree directional change is needed with a 45-degree elbow geometry. It accepts 5/16 inch OD flared tubing on one end and threads into a 1/4 inch NPTF port on the mating component. The Flare x MNPTF end configuration makes it compatible with standard SAE J514 flared tubing assemblies used across residential and commercial HVAC, hydraulic power units, and industrial process piping.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 5/16 inch OD SAE 37-degree flared tubing with 1/4 inch NPTF port connections, consistent with SAE J514 flared fitting standards.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter, hydraulic technician, or licensed HVAC technician. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing or installing fittings. Inspect the flare seat and tube flare for nicks or irregularities before assembly, as surface defects compromise the metal-to-metal seal. Torque the NPTF thread end according to the system manufacturer or applicable industry guidelines, and pressure-test the assembly before returning the system to service.
