The PARKER 5-4 HBZ-SS is a stainless steel compression tube union designed to join two compression-end tube lines in a single inline fitting. It accepts a 5/16-inch outside diameter tube on one end and a 1/4-inch outside diameter tube on the other, making it a reducing union suitable for applications where tubing sizes transition. Rated to 8100 psi maximum working pressure, this fitting is built for demanding service in hydraulic, instrumentation, or high-pressure fluid systems. Stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance in wet, chemical, or outdoor environments. Installation requires no welding or brazing — hand tools are sufficient for assembly. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and instrumentation technicians are the typical installers.
This fitting is suited for use in instrumentation tubing systems, high-pressure hydraulic lines, process fluid circuits, and pneumatic control lines where a leak-free compression connection is required. The compression-by-compression end configuration makes it appropriate for joining two tube runs without special adapters. Use two wrenches when tightening compression fittings to prevent tube rotation and avoid over-tightening, which can deform the ferrule and cause leaks. Follow applicable codes such as ASME B31.1 or B31.3 for pressure piping systems as required by the installation environment.
