The PARKER 48IFHD-8-8 is a brass inverted male flare connector designed for use in fluid and pneumatic line assemblies that require a secure, leak-resistant tube-to-thread connection. This fitting accepts a 1/2 inch OD flared tube on one end and connects to a 1/2-14 male NPTF thread on the other, providing a reliable Flare x MNPTF configuration. Rated to 750 psi maximum working pressure and up to 250 degrees F, it suits demanding service environments. The brass construction offers corrosion resistance and machinability suited to fuel, oil, hydraulic, and refrigeration line work. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid-power mechanics are the typical installers.
This connector is used in residential and light commercial applications where inverted flare tube lines must terminate at a threaded port. Common install scenarios include hydraulic systems, fuel lines, refrigeration circuits, and pneumatic assemblies using 1/2 inch OD tubing. The NPTF thread standard ensures a dry-seal, pressure-tight connection without relying solely on thread sealant. It is sold individually and is well-suited for repair, replacement, or new-construction plumbing and mechanical work where SAE J51 and UL Listed fittings are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 1/2 inch OD inverted flare tubing with 1/2-14 NPTF threaded ports.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified fluid-power mechanic. De-pressurize and isolate the line before removing or installing any fitting. Ensure mating tubing is properly flared to the correct inverted flare geometry before tightening. Follow applicable codes including IFGC or IPC as relevant to the fluid service; consult system manufacturer specifications for torque and sealant requirements.
