The PARKER 48IFHD-5-2 is a brass inverted male flare connector designed to join flared tubing to male NPTF threaded ports in hydraulic and fluid-system plumbing applications. The fitting accepts a 5/16-inch tube OD on the flare end and connects to a 1/8-27 NPTF male thread on the opposite end. Constructed from brass, it is rated for a maximum working pressure of 1200 psi and a maximum working temperature of 250 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid-systems mechanics install this fitting when transitioning from inverted flare tubing runs to NPT-threaded components such as valves, manifolds, and control devices.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and hydraulic fluid lines where an inverted flare tube end must mate to a male NPTF port. The compact overall length of 0.79 inches makes it practical in tight equipment cabinets and panel installations. It meets SAE J51 standards and carries UL Listing, making it appropriate for systems that require certified components. Typical applications include refrigerant and fuel line connections, compressed-air distribution, and low-pressure hydraulic circuits.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for fluid and refrigerant line assemblies using 5/16-inch OD inverted flare tubing connected to 1/8-27 NPTF male-threaded ports.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified fluid-systems mechanic. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Use a backup wrench on adjacent fittings to avoid twisting tubing during tightening. Apply thread sealant compatible with the system fluid to the NPTF threads per applicable plumbing or mechanical codes; the flare end does not require sealant and relies on metal-to-metal contact for the seal.
