The PARKER 48F-5-2 is a brass flared tube connector designed for use in fluid and refrigerant line assemblies where a leak-free, pressure-rated mechanical connection is required. It features a 45-degree flare on one end and a male NPTF threaded end on the other, joining a 5/16 inch OD flared tube to a 1/8-27 NPTF port. Rated to 1200 psi maximum working pressure and 250 degrees F maximum working temperature, this connector is suited for systems where both pressure integrity and thermal resistance matter. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and refrigeration mechanics install this fitting as part of copper or compatible tubing runs in both residential and light commercial applications.
This connector is used wherever a flared tube must terminate into a threaded port on a valve, manifold, or component body. Common applications include refrigeration lines, hydraulic circuits, fuel systems, and compressed-air plumbing. The 45-degree flare angle conforms to SAE J512 and SAE J513 standards, making it compatible with standard SAE 45-degree flare tooling and fittings found throughout HVAC, refrigeration, and general fluid-handling trade work. Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician, plumber, or qualified mechanic. Depressurize and isolate the system before removing or installing any fitting. Use proper SAE 45-degree flaring tools to prepare the tube end; an improperly flared tube will not seal reliably regardless of torque. Do not over-torque the NPTF threads — hand-tighten plus a measured number of turns per standard practice, and inspect for leaks after returning the system to pressure.
