The PARKER 48F-4-4 is a brass flared tube connector designed for use in hydraulic, refrigeration, and fluid-transfer systems where a leak-free mechanical connection is required. It features a 45-degree flare end on one side and a male NPTF (Dryseal) threaded end on the other, providing a reliable Flare x MNPTF transition fitting. The connector accepts 1/4-inch OD tubing, uses a 1/4-18 thread size, and is rated for a maximum working pressure of 1400 psi and a maximum working temperature of 250 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this fitting in both new construction and service applications.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial systems including HVAC refrigerant lines, hydraulic circuits, fuel lines, and other fluid-handling assemblies where a 45-degree SAE flare-to-male pipe thread transition is required. The NPTF dryseal thread design eliminates the need for a separate thread sealant on the pipe side, making it appropriate for installations in compressed air, oil, and gas service lines. Its compact overall length of 1.23 inches allows it to fit in tight spaces common in equipment panels and mechanical rooms.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 1/4-inch OD tubing with a 45-degree SAE flare end and a 1/4-18 NPTF male pipe thread connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician familiar with flare fitting assembly and dryseal thread requirements. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. Use a calibrated flaring tool to produce a clean, crack-free 45-degree flare on the tubing before assembly; damaged flares are a leading cause of leaks. Follow applicable codes including ASME B31 piping codes or refrigeration system standards as required by the application.
