The PARKER 48F-10-4 is a brass flared tube connector designed for use in fluid and gas line assemblies requiring a reliable mechanical seal. It features a 45-degree flare end on one side and a male NPTF threaded end on the other, allowing a direct transition from flared tubing to a pipe-threaded port. With a maximum working pressure of 650 psi and a maximum working temperature of 250 degrees F, this fitting handles demanding service conditions in refrigeration, HVAC, hydraulic, and pneumatic applications. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of connector during system fabrication and service work.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial applications where 5/8 inch OD flared tubing must terminate at a 1/4-18 NPTF male threaded port. Common install scenarios include refrigerant line connections, fuel oil lines, and compressed air or hydraulic circuits. The Flare x MNPTF configuration makes it a direct-connect fitting with no additional adapters required at the threaded port. It meets SAE J512 and SAE J513 flare fitting standards and carries a UL Listing, making it appropriate for code-compliant installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for fluid and gas systems using 5/8 inch OD flared tubing and 1/4-18 NPTF threaded ports.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician, plumber, or pipefitter following applicable codes such as IFGC, IPC, or NEC where relevant. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Use a properly sized flaring tool to produce a clean, uniform 45-degree flare on the tube end before assembly. Do not overtighten the flare nut, as excessive torque can crack the flare seat and cause leaks.
